Sponsor a student scientist

BioEYES started in 2002, bringing exciting hands-on science to students in Philadelphia public schools. To help us celebrate our 20th anniversary, please consider making a donation to help us continue bringing our unique brand of engaging science education to the next generation. Just $20 is enough to sponsor a student scientist for a full week of our program!

Empowering students to become scientists in EVERY classroom.

BioEYES is a K-12 science education program which provides classroom-based learning opportunities through the use of live zebrafish. BioEYES is designed to incorporate teacher empowerment and provides professional development seminars and a co-teaching experience with trained science consultants, called outreach educators.

Our award-winning programs

BioEYES has multiple program levels available from pre-K through high school. Our curricula include anatomy, genetics, experimental design, habitats, vertebrate development, cell biology, and more.

Becoming a BioEYES Teacher

We not only want to provide learning opportunities for students, but for our teachers as well. All participating BioEYES teachers attend a local training in a laboratory setting and receive ongoing support up through and including the time when they learn to present BioEYES independently as one of our Model Teachers.

The latest news from BioEYES

What a great experience for my students! They can really enjoy science with hands-on activities and observations which can bring this part of science to life for them. I love the fact that Susan and Rob [BioEYES Outreach Educators] are there with the teachers in mind and they understand what we need to feel comfortable teaching about zebrafish and my limited expertise in this area.
